The State's Statistics Authority released an analytical summary for the results of the Labour Force Sample Survey, 2007, which is the second consecutive survey since the Statistics Authority approved conducting this survey on annual basis in conformity with its strategy.

The importance of this survey is quite clear since it provides decision and policy makers as well as researchers and other data users with certain valuable information. The survey estimates the size of manpower, employment and unemployment measurements, identifying characteristics of labour force in terms of age, sex, nationality, employment status, educational status, economic activity and sectoral distribution of employed in addition to measurements of average monthly wage and average work hours in accordance with internationally adopted concepts and recommendations.

Beside the analytical summary, which comprises main tables that highlights the survey results, the Statistics Authority will produce a detailed bulletin shortly, including a detailed presentation for the objectives, description and implementation processes of the survey in addition to a review of concepts and classifications adopted. The detailed bulletin will, also include some technical notes related to the sample design, estimation procedures, accuracy of estimates, variance estimation and measurements of the standard error. There will be a particular section giving an in depth analysis for the survey results.
