Department of Demographic and Social Statistics is one of the technical departments forming the statistics Authority. Its functions are repressed in producing indicators and analysis related to social, demographic and environment statistics.

  Mission      
  Our mission is to provide the official population estimates and reference statistics, indicators, and studies on the country’s demographic, social, and environmental conditions, which will serve as the basis for the country’s important policy and development planning decisions.  
       
  Strategic Goals  
 
bullet Produce statistics and analytical publications that are up-to-date, comprehensive, accurate, useful, and accessible.
bullet Produce authoritative, official reference measures of the country’s population. Provide population denominators required to calculate incidence rates for other statistics and population controls for surveys.
bullet  Produce authoritative, official reference measures and indicators of the country’s labor force, household finances, educational and health conditions, and other social, demographic, and environmental conditions. .
bullet Expand scope of statistics and indicators produced, to meet data demand and international standards; keep abreast of current topics of interest in the areas of population, demographic, social, and environmental statistics. .
bullet Continually improve statistical methodologies and analytical techniques. Ensure compliance of data products and methods with internationally recognized quality standards.
bullet Enhance coordination and cooperation with our data suppliers.
