QSA to organise the second meeting for members of the National Statistical Consultative Committee

The Qatar Statistics Authority (QSA) will hold the second meeting for members of the National Statistical Consultative Committee functioning under the QSA. The committee specializes in providing support and advisory roles to the QSA. 

The meeting will begin with opening remarks by H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Jabor bin Jassim Al Thani on the significance of using official statistics for evidence-based policy making and the role of government institutions in the national statistical system.

In the meeting, several issues will be discussed including the 2010 round of Population, Housing and Establishments Census, sectoral statistics, electronic links between QSA and statistical agencies and the General Data Dissemination System (GDDS).
