Workshop on Environment Statistics  17 – 18 March, 2009

Under the auspices of this Excellency Sheikh Hamad Bin Jabor Bin Jassim Al Thani, Acting president of Qatar Statistics Authority, the Statistics Authority organizes a workshop on Environment Statistics in the period 17-18, March at Al Wajba Hall, Intercontinental Hotel, Doha.

The Workshop aims at:

1. Identifying basic issues of environment
2. Reviewing concepts and definitions as well as international classifications related to environment.
3. Providing the knowledge of how to fill in the internationally recommended statistical questionnaires. Participants will be introduced to the following environmental statistics questionnaires:

• Questionnaire of Air and Climate Change
• Questionnaire of Land Use Statistics
• Questionnaire of Water Accounts
• Questionnaire of Water Statistics

Experts and specialists for all concerned agencies in the State will participate in this workshop.
