 QSA President is Elected as First Deputy Chairman to the Board of the UNESCO Institute for Statistics

 
   

H.E. Sheikh Hamad Bin Jabor Bin Jassim Al-Thani has received a letter from the Director of the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, Hendrik van der Pol, congratulating him on his election as First Deputy Chairman to the Board of the Institute, after determining a quorum, on his nomination by seven members of the Board of Directors.

 
   


The Norway’s Mr. Johan Christian is elected as Second Deputy Chairman to the Board of the Institute too. Additionally, four members from China, Latvia, the United States, and Norway are elected to have the Policy and Planning Committee’s membership.

It is worth stating that the UNESCO Institute for Statistics is the United Nations arm for global statistics in the education, science and technology, culture and communications fields. The UNESCO Institute for Statistics was established in 1999. Montreal is its headquarter.

The Institute enjoys functional independence in order to meet the growing need for data that is compatible with the followed policies and enjoys reliability.

The Institute offers its services to the UNESCO member states, UN agencies, group of international governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, research institutes, universities and other authorities which are interested in its activities.
