QSA Launches a Training Course on Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey

Under the patronage of HE Sheikh Hamad bin Jaber bin Jassim Al Thani, QSA President, a training course for employees working on Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey was launched yesterday. The survey will be implemented through cooperation between QSA and United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) during the next phase.

Trainees will be coached on methods of collecting survey data. This survey is intended to monitor relevant samples that have common geographical distributions, economic activities, customs and traditions. This is to observe the progress made in public health, education, child protection, health and nutrition, maternal health, newborn care, information technology, telecommunications, multimedia, and recreational means as well as places.

Also this survey measures levels of satisfaction with various aspects of life, so as to achieve the objectives and purposes of Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey's work program at the local and global level, that international organizations exemplified by UNICEF aim to reach.

This survey enhances statistical capacity by collecting, analyzing and disseminating data in accordance with adopted standards and principles, such as sex, age and type. In addition it enhances statistical capacity by collecting some data that are not extrapolated from other surveys, which results in the first place in benefiting QSA in terms of progress and updating process, which in turn contribute to the development of databases.
