In the occasion of Literacy Arab Day, Qatar has the Lowest
Illiteracy Rates in 2012

On the occasion of Literacy Arab Day, which falls on the 8th of
January every year, Qatar Statistics Authority announced that in
2012 the number of adult illiterates aged 15+ in the State of Qatar
reached 52 thousand (3.3%), down 50% over 2007, 3.1% for males, and
4.2% for females. |

Qatar has the lowest illiteracy rates, according to UNESCO
2011 report
UNESCO 2011 statistics shows that there are more than 60 million
illiterates in the Arab States. The illiteracy rate in adults in the
Arab States aged 15+ was 27.3%, 18.6% for males and 36.5% for
females. It is worth mentioning that Qatar has the lowest illiteracy
rates in adults aged 15+ in 2009 (5.3%).
